Comparison between shipborne and AUV temperature. The shipborne CTD was taken in a deeper area slightly off the site. Overall, the match is reasonable in the upper part of the water column. The feature in the shipborne CTD at 45-70m is not reproduced in the temperature profile either, but more resembles the AUV conductivity profile above. While the cause is unknown, it lends support to the hypothesis that the water properties really are different in the shallow and deeper areas.
