The upper panel shows weight-at-age 19+ as reported from catches (blue) or modelled from catches and survey observations (red) using a mixed effect model (Figure 6.5). AFWG 2017 was the last working group using the annual mixed effect model. The weights-at-age used in the assessment were based on the fixed effects model and are therefore the same for every year. These weights were updated in 2022 and differ only slightly from those estimated in the assessments since 2018. The bottom panel shows comparison of the observed Norwegian and Russian weight by age with the modelled one up to 2020.
