Anne-Catrin er utdannet i ernæringsvitenskap og har siden hun startet sin doktorgrad i 2013 jobbet med fiskeernæring. Forskningsarbeidet hennes er i stor grad tverrfaglig og kombinerer feltene fiskeernæring, vekst og fysiologi sammen med epigenetiske, metabolom- og transkriptomstudier.

Hennes hovedforskningsinteresse ligger i samspillet av intermediær metabolisme, epigenetiske genreguleringsmekanismer og programmeringspotensial for helse og vekst av stamfisk og oppdrettsfisk i én generasjon, og avkom over generasjoner.
