Subject area : Fish Nutrition, Nutritional Requirement and Feeding Management, Fish Biochemistry, Digestibility studies, Alternative feed ingredients, Fish Health and welfare, In vitro studies.
Current project:
1. Ongoing project ( ROBUST) : Better welfare in the larval and post-larval phase in Ballan wrasse with a special focus on fin health. Developing methods in LC-MS to analyze stress hormones in larvae and water samples.
2. Projects involved ( Nutritional requirements of halibut ): Provide knowledge about the nutritional requirements of halibut and find a balance between the feed composition of protein, lipid and carbohydrate that is optimal for good appetite, digestion and growth.
3. Projects involved ( Mussel up – blue mussel protein for aquafeeds ): To Investigate if the production of blue mussel can be upscaled, used as a sustainable new feed ingredients for A. salmon and its economic feasibility.
Past projects:
1. Ern-samspill: The aim of this project was to understand the importance of interaction effects between different nutrients in the feed for salmon health, where I was involved with nutrients-interactions uptake studies using RTGutGC cell lines.
2. SUSINCHAIN: The project was funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation program to test, pilot and demonstrate recently developed innovations, including techniques, products and processes using insects. To Validate research to guarantee optimal animal performance and product quality using balck soldier fly larvae meal.
