Light is probably the most varying environmental variable in pelagic ecosystems, and the most ignored in ecological studies. In this Ocean Science Bar, you will learn how light structures the distribution of zooplankton and fish.

About the event (held in English)

In this Ocean Science Bar, you will learn about how light (and consequently bathymetry and sea ice) structures the feeding efficiency of visual foraging planktivore predators, which directly impacts the spatial distribution of zooplankton and fish.

The event is free and open for all!

Ocean Science Bar is a collaboration between Statsraad Lehmkuhl, the University of Bergen, the Institute of Marine Research, NORCE, and the Nansen Center. At the Statsraaden Bar & Reception you are welcome to enjoy highlights from marine research and ocean related issues in informal and relaxing surroundings.
