My research primarily relates to the ecology and sustainability of aquatic species, with implications for conservation, marine spatial planning, fisheries and aquaculture. I address applied and theoretical questions using a combination of field, experimental, and molecular genetic methods. A particular focus has been on endangered elasmobranchs (sharks and rays) and other data-limited fishes. I have a parallel interest in welfare issues in farmed and wild fish to facilitate a sustainable aquaculture industry. The latter forms the basis of my current role as a Postdoc in the Population Genetics group.
