Curriculum Vitae

Jeg har min bakgrunn innen analytisk kjemi. Jeg jobber nært knyttet noen av laboratoriene ved Havforskningsinstituttet som vitenskapelig ansvarlig for metoder og som kontaktperson i forbindelse med Havforskningsinstituttets funksjon som norsk referanselaboratorie  (NRL) for metaller i fôr. Jeg er tilknyttet forskningsgruppen Trygt fôr, og er der blant annet prosjektleder for overvåkingsprogrammet for fiskefôr. Dette er et prosjekt vi utfører på oppdrag av Mattilsynet og som inkluderer analyser og rapportering av uønskede stoffer, samt næringsstoffer i fiskefôr og fôringredienser.
 
Mitt forskningsområde er knyttet til metaller og mineraler i fôr og sjømat. Innenfor dette området, har det vært fokus på spesieringsanalyser av elementer, dvs å kunne bestemme ulike former/forbindelser av elementer. Jeg har arbeider mye med utvikling av analysemetoder for å kunne bestemme ulike former av elementene arsen og selen. Dette er viktig blant for å kunne skille de mer giftige forbindelsene av et metall fra de mindre giftige formene. Jeg har jobbet mye med arsenolipider som er en ny gruppe arsenforbindelser som fins naturlig i fiskeoljer og andre marine oljer. 
 
Jeg har erfaring med ulike analytiske instrumentering med tyngde av erfaring på kromatografiske separasjonsteknikker (væskekromatografi, og gasskromatografi) koblet til element-spesifikke detektor (induktivt koplet plasma masse spektrometri; ICP-MS). Jeg har også noe erfaring med bruk av massespektrometer (HR-MS) for å kunne bestemme kjemiske strukturer.
