Acoustics and Observation Methodologies

The Institute of Marine Research has expertise in the fields of underwater acoustics and fish-capture technology.

With limited resources available for new development, an important aspect of our strategy is to build alliances with other technology-based groups in order to ensure that new developments in the fields of petroleum- and defence-related subsea technology are exploited. Projects of this sort are also important as a means of stimulating recruitment in the field of technology for marine research purposes. For this reason, the Institute of Marine Research runs a wide range of projects in collaboration with several central technology partners.
